Liberty Bank’s Capital Shrinks by 10 million GEL

Tbilisi (GBC) – As for May 1, 2020, Liberty Bank has the best Return on Assets (ROA) – 2.95%, amid the unprofitable months of March and April. It comes back of only ProCredit Bank among commercial banks with major assets (ROA- 2.92%).

With 304 million GEL supervisory capital, Liberty Bank ranks 4th (314.7 million GEL in the first quarter of 2020), while assets of 2.4 billion GEL makes the bank third.

In 2019, Liberty bank raised the capital by 0.6% through the system buffer, in 2020 – by 0.9%. The growth in 2021 will be 1.2%.

Liberty bank provides banking services for the majority of Georgian citizens, including pensioners, social assistance beneficiaries. The ratio of retail loans is 96%. Reserve on loan portfolio is 113.5 million GEL as for May 1, 2020 (111.5 million GEL in the first quarter of 2020).
